I cut the original cross out of PMC+. When it had dried, I added the bale, by forming it around two oiled cocktail sticks, and sticking it to the cross with slip. I fired the cross with a blow torch. However, I wasn't happy with the result. The surface was too rough and uneven. So I later added a layer of PMC3, and used the pointed tool to make a deliberately bumpy surface. I cut the flower out of PMC sheet, cutting each petal separately with a heart-shaped hole punch. I glued the petals on with slip, and used the pointed tool to make the bumps in the centre of the flower.
