Entry 1 - Violet Ring

I started with a band of PMC+. Then I created a number of violets and leaves from a mould I had previously made. (The mould was in belicold from a flower and leaves I sculpted in Fimo.) These flowers I made in PMC Reg and kiln fired so that they were small enough for the ring. Using balls of PMC+ and slip I arranged them around the band and torch fired them. To ‘fill in’ I rolled by hand 3 tendrils of PMC+, thin at one end and large at the other. In the larger ends of 2 of inserted 24K gold casting grains and the end of the last one I inserted a blue CZ. I arranged these from the back, where I blended them to the band, around to the front and secured them with slip. I then kiln fired the whole ring. After polishing the ring I dipped it in liver of sulphur long enough to create a golden hue. ‘Et Voila!’

Entry 2 - Violet necklace

This necklace was built in a similar way to the ring above.

Entry 3 - Fairy Wing

I used a sugarcraft mould for a fairy wing to create the wing in PMC+. It was allowed to dry and then painted with 24K gold PMC. All was torch fired and then a bail applied to the back. Again torch fired, then burnished.

Entry 4 - Filigree

Syringing onto greased proof paper in a random fashion created the Filigree heart. An outline was first created with one syringe with a thick nozzle, and then filled with a thinner one. A CZ is set in. A tear drop of over fire clay, with a hole through, is attached. The over firing gives it a granite appearance, and the wire attaching it is coiled at the bottom.

Entry 5 - Jointed bead

The Bead joins in the centre. It was created in 2 halves over two cones of Fimo. A hole was left in the top of the silver cones and they were then decorated with garnet CZ. A rim of clay was added. The 2 parts of a twisted clasp are secured in the bead by baking them in with Fimo, after an eyepin was placed in each cone, protruding from the end. Pink ribbon was attached.
