Liz has entered five pieces into the competition, representing a variety of techniques. She loves to combine metal clay with a variety of jewelry making methods.

#1 - “Dogwood”

“Dogwood” is an 18” necklace constructed from fine silver and 24kt gold. Keum-boo is applied to the Dogwood Flower. The Dogwood leaves, including the toggle clasp, are enhanced with liver of sulfur patina. The necklace is suspended from a classical loop and loop chain fabricated from fine silver.

#2 - "Spring"

“Spring” is a series of leaves collected from my garden. The metal clay leaves are riveted together to give a nice range of movement. The necklace is suspended from a fine silver classical loop and loop chain and complete with a toggle clasp made of the same variety of leaf.

#3 - "Willow Branch"

“Willow Branch” is bracelet constructed from a sterling silver cast branch with applied metal clay buds. The clasp is fabricated from sterling silver and metal clay. A loop and loop chain fastens the clasp to the branch for comfort of the wearer.

#4 - “Gilded Web”

“Gilded Web” is a set of earrings. 24 kt gold is applied using Keum-boo and then the piece is enhanced with patina using liver of sulfur. Hand made sterling silver findings allow the earrings to dangle nicely just below the wearer’s ears. Red thread continues the illusion of a spider weaving her web.

#5 - “Bike Adventure”

“Bike Adventure” is a set of metal clay and dichroic lamp work beads strung on a sterling silver wire with self clasp. The fine silver beads are completed with a liver of sulfur patina. The hand made Moretti lamp work beads contribute to the glow of the bike adventure.
