Xmas 2006 Competition Winners
Our competition was judged by Senior Instructor, Sali Earls. She says, "The standard of entries was extremely high, and I'm really impressed by the diversity shown in the work. It just goes to show how much you can achieve with Precious Metal Clay, and I hope that the work will inspire up and coming metal clay artists."
First prize goes to M Miller for the piece, "Fairy Grail". Sali says, "I was particularly impressed with this piece - not only is it beautiful, but it's also extremely accomplished, and would have taken a great deal of thought and planning. The artist has put Precious Metal Clay through it's paces, and has produced something outstanding."

First place: "Fairy Grail", M Miller
With the standard set so high, we have decided to award two second places. Sali says, "Both Holly Gage and Diana Contine stood out for me, having produced unique and thought provoking work. Holly's "Mourning Sky" evokes thoughts of a bygone age, and is skillfully carved to her own design. Diana's "Gatekeeper" mixes several types of Precious Metal Clay in a timeless, and eye catching piece. Both artists have finished their work with semi precious stones, and I feel that both pieces really show us something of the artist themselves."

Joint second place: "Mourning Sky", Holly Gage
Joint second place: "Gatekeeper", Diana Contine
Judging the competition was especially hard, as the standard of entries was so high. Sali has therefore decided to commend the following artists in particular for their work:

Thank you to everyone that entered - we hope that you try again next year.
