Create an effective branch
If you, like me, have tried the age old method of covering a twig with paste and failed here’s another method to make a simple, effective twig/branch look for a piece of jewellery...
Using fine metal wire cut to the required length (if using as a connecting piece form the ends into loops)
Cut another piece of wire and wrap around (tightly) the first piece leaving 2 protruding ends. Repeat 2/3 times leaving varied lengths along the first piece you cut.
Cover the wire sculpture piece in metal clay pieces snugly; leave to dry.
Use a paintbrush to coat this piece with a layer or three of slip allowing to dry between coats for a ‘natural textural’ look/feel. Leave to dry.
And finally...Fire the piece!
